Bienvenu Steinberg & C is pleased to present Other Expressions, an exhibition featuring the work of nine painters whose individual voices manifest the depth, diversity and vitality of contemporary abstraction. Starting in the first decade of the twentieth century, non-representational art manifested itself internationally in multiple directions. Beginning  with the spiritually infused  works of Hilma Af Klimt and Wassily Kandinsky, and ranging through such important  and innovative movements as Constructivism, De Stijl, Abstract Expressionism, Minimalism, Op Art, Color Field, etc. Abstraction continues to occupy a central place in the arts of the twenty-first century. The paintings in Other Expressions all reflect the pioneering work of earlier abstractionists and simultaneously expand the boundaries of non-figuration.
